Origin: Ghana Region: Plantation: Species: Vintage: The beans used for this chocolate are of the Forastero variety, hailing from 7 degrees 10 minutes North 3 degrees 32 minute West, which puts the plantation roughly in eastern Côte d'Ivoire, near its border with Ghana. It has a cocoa-mass content of 75% with a touch of vanilla for seasoning and a touch of soy lecithin for smoothness. This one is aromatic to the point of pungency with woodsy and spicy highlights. It has a bold flavor with a wonderful spiciness and plenty of acidity to round it out.
